Yes, this is post is wayyyy delayed. Let’s back track a bit to recall the events than transpired that brought me to this mayhem.
I recently had a chance to catch up with a long time friend whom I haven’t been in touch with for years now. While we were talking, he mentioned about wanting to get hold of this Pinoy-made comic book. Rapidblade was able to find me one and we agreed to meet up at Sputnik’s Relaunch so I could get the comic book from him.
Saturday came and although I initially had plans of being in Cubao X by 4pm, I was monstrously late. Yeah, I procrastinate too much. Good thing Rapidblade got the comic book signed by Sir Gerry Alanguilan. I arrived at Cubao X a little past 6pm and I found Renie, Levy and the other guys sketching inside Sputnik. Van was outside so we hung out on the gutters fronting the tent while waiting for the others.
Bands started playing at around 8pm.

Purplechickens
Oh, and I blame Tuesday Vargas for that awesome set with Top Junk. I lost my cheap decoy phone while filming their set. As the night progressed it got crazier and crazier. The queue outside was starting to get really long and I’m thankful I got in early even if it meant I had to hang out and be idle for 2 hours. At least we had a comfortable seat with a good view of the bands. People were getting drunk because of this booth that sells cocktails for P30 a cup, P20 for a refill.
At one time we took a break from the crowd by getting inside Sputnik. There we saw Sir RA Rivera, Quark Henares and Mich Dulce. Boy, did I try real hard not to look too starstruck.
When it was Pedicab’s turn to play, we made our way into the crowd trying to find a decent spot. It was real lucky that we were able to secure that spot because I had a great view of the band.
The Coup de grâce that night would be the medley from the dangerous Pedicab Band. Watch out as Raimund Marasigan does a “stage” dive and nobody caught him.
